Odds on the next one won't have these problems but with a guy like lars in the band there is that small chance they would do something like that as a big FU to people like me & you.

I can't say the same for you, just because I don't know your stances, but I have supported them through every cause they've endured through the years. St. Anger, Load, ReLoad, Napster, Therapy, you name it. They have no reason to say "Fuck you!" to me, because I applaud the work they did with Death Magnetic. I blame Rick Rubin, and his entourage. Possibly even Warner Bros., with all the shit I'm hearing on the MM forum about the poor merchandising...

As far as I know, the band members, themselves, are ignorant of the real issues, here.

The band members approved the final album. Rubin produced it, Fieldman butchered it. Warner Bros. had nothing to do with it. You put your blame in the wrong place buddy.

They don't care about the actual CD, they care about how many copies it sold, and it sold very well in this day and age. We'll see how it compares to Chinese Democracy's sales. (And we will see if the new GNR follows the LOUDNESS trend) I hope not. But it's over now. Metallica has laid the issue of the album to rest. Time to focus on the LOUDNESS issue, and only use DM as a reference.

They've created some great music over the years. I like every album for what it is. But these guys have pretty much been full of shit from the start.

And up until putting out a defective cd, they should not care what others think. Everything they ever did except the error in production on DM was perfectly fine with me including all ten kick ass tracks on the new album.

I could easily do that. I have sooooooooooooooooo much music in my collection, I won't live long enough to properly enjoy it all. It is still a shame that is can't be properly cranked though because the music is stellar on DM.

I'm with you on this. I've grown tired of the whole tough-guy attitude from these guys. I suppose it's cool if you change musical direction and say "so what, this is what we want to do now.", that's one thing. But to put out a basically defective product and then pretend that there is nothing wrong with it is not an acceptable business practice. Why must all my musical idols turn out to be pricks? In the end, it's always about money over music. That's fucking sick....how much richer can you get Metallica/Warner Bros.? Do the right fuckin' thing and fix your broke ass CD.
