Hey guys, would like to share a slightly remixed version of Metallica's "Rebel of Babylon"

It felt to me that the snare in the recording was too much buried in the mix and lacked the high-end. Hope you'll like this little change :)

do you have an audio version I can put into my ipod. I hate ripping stuff from youtube, the sound quality really suffers. Oh, kudos on your remix, the drums sound great

Gave it some much needed clarity. Timing is just barely off by a hair in some spots, but what can you do.

Instead of boosting 500hz, boost 1-2k, and 10k. You boosted the mids, which doesn't really make it brighter, just fuller. I'd lower the 500hz boost you did by 2 and raise what I stated by 1-3.

Ayo, I didn't boost , I hi-passed at around 500hz ( which is boosting hi-end) ;) It's a snare sample from 'sad but true' layered over 'rebel of babylon' just had to tweak eq a litlle bit.

Because when boosting 1-2k, you lose ambience, so boosting 10k makes up for it. Add that to the slight boost of 500hz, and it'll blend in nicely to an already recorded track. The object isn't to replace, but to enhance.

I haven't done anything to any mix. I was just offering a suggestion.

HOLY SHIT! That makes all the difference. I hate the DM/BM snare sound. Better that SA? yes..but still doesnt quite cut it.

Yeah, I listen to grindcore and other metal with horrible production(because theyre poor, not by choice lol), I too have no issue with SA or DM's ping, I dont even notice it lol.

What I love about this version is that it kinda sounds like TBA drums, which are SO much quieter than the drums on DM and BM. So you can hear the guitars, bass, and vocals more clearly on this. Well done man.

Slightly off topic- does anyone know what Rebel is about? I'm probably just being a dumb ass but it sounds like a song written about a suicide bomber and a song about Jebus had a baby.
