What do you think it should/'nt have?

I'm hoping to see a lot of Metal bands that used to tour with Metallica Like Godsmack, Disturebed, Machine Head and other would be great. Also new upcoming bands will be really cool.

And I'm excited for The Black Album Fully and Ride The Lightning... finally Escape!!!
Now they need to do ...And Justice For All fully and I can die happy!

I'm sure they'll stick a ton more Metal bands on that bill, they are Metallica the people who listen to them like Metal. I'll be disappointed if they don't include more Metal bands

We have Metallica and Liturgy, what more is there to want?

A festival with a wide range of "alternative" music acts is preferable to a mostly metal or mostly indie (or any genre) festival.

I Don't mind alternative bands, but the main demographic will want to listen to Metal including myself so that's why I'm hoping for. And a wide range of Metal sub genres exists so it could be good for that too. And they did mention Metal and Thrash bands will be included as well. Hoping for Teatament!

And James does look very skinny, too skinny IMO he should go hit the gym it will fill him up and he's older now so it will be beneficial on many levels.

And James said on the live feed that they are working on a new album I hope this festival won't take away from the making of the new album. I know it's only a 2 day event but it is a lot of planning.

I get you man, sort of. I don't listen to much metal myself... Testament would be awesome. They seem to be fans of quite "arty" metal bands, throwing a few more of them in there would be good. I just don't want it to be like every other boring, generic metal festival...

I think they've widened their potential demographic by including the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers, Arctic Monkeys, Fucked Up, Liturgy etc, opened themselves up to a more diverse group of people.

Your right I agree with you on that. I am actually looking foreword to more types of music it will be interesting I might find a band I really like and become a fan of! And yes I really DON'T want it to become a generic Metal festival with all these sound alike Metalcore bands (ive been to Mayhem festival exept the headliners Disturbed/Godsmack/Megadeth/Trivium and Machinehead it was all pass for me) But more Metal bands maybe like old school Thrash like Tesrament and Death Angel and Overkill or maybe power metal like Firewind and Dragonforce or maybe Prog metal like Mastodon or doom metal like Candlemass or maybe prog rock/metal like Ghost, James is a fan of theirs, more metal bands will be good for most fans and publicity wise too

Haha, someone actually registered it directly after hearing Lars say that? I automatically like that person.

No, I mean as in booking bands that represent a quite wide range of genres.

Going out on a limb here, but I'm assuming you haven't actually dedicated any time to really listening to those bands.

If they keep going on like they are, this will rival Coachella in it's awesomeness.

So how can you state that all of those acts are "shitty"?

Metallica draws a bigger crowd than any other metal band. Therefore I would guess that there are a number of people who don't really listen to metal who come to a Metallica show. So it wouldn't be surprising that this festival will draw a lot of people who like the more alternative/indie stuff, but be into watching Metallica.

This festival is Metallica's own "Bonnaroo". I went to that festival in 2008 with a completely open mind and had a fantastic time. The vibe was great with the crowd and I saw alot of cool bands...some of which I knew their material and some that I didnt. It was fun to see a reggae band, then hear a comedian, go see Jack Jackson etc. Of course, capping it off was Metallica headlining one of the nights but it was an 'experience'. It was cool to go into a tent at 3:30 in the morning and see Kirk jam with an Indie band, and do other stuff during the festival. These types of festivals do well in Europe because people go to have a good time and just enjoy....different types of music and the entire interactiveness that a festival atmosphere brings. I'm a metalhead, and Metallica is my favorite artist but I certainly enjoy different genres. Im looking at tickets to upcoming shows that I have...GIgantour...Rammstein....Neil Diamond...Roger Waters. I've seen Lady Gaga twice. I realize not everyone has as big of broad musical interest, but it really makes attending festivals that much more fun. I think this Orion festival is going to be a blast! Just my 2 cents...if you are willing to do something unique, don't say no to this..you'll have a good time...and seriously, getting to see TBA AND RTL in their entirety along with all the other stuff? Don't shoot it down and then regret not going.
