Let's see, I wanna get my Metallica fix like anyone else but Europe has far more festivals that fit Metallica's needs and the fans are a lot more passionate about them there than they are here. I don't need to see Metallica tour North America for no reason, as a matter of fact I would rather them work on the new album.

I saw them for World Magnetic, it was awesome and I'll be the first to hit the lines when they announce tickets are on sale for shows close to where I can see them. The bottom line is as much shit as the financial argument gets, it all boils down to dollars and cents. If I'm in Metallica's shoes, I'm gonna play where I'm gonna have the most fun yet secure the most money.

You're forgetting history - 91,92,93,94,96,97,98,99,00 Metallica toured the US a LOT more than Europe. Though I am sick of Met's touring being a one-off cash grab in a field in the middle of nowhere at £100 a ticket and thinking that counts as a "tour". They have played just two sets of shows indoors (2003,2009) in the UK in the past fifteen years ; discounting the one-off MetClub shows. Every other Met show has been a huge stadium/field-in-the-arse-of-the-world at silly money.

Why do the boys in black tour Europe every year? While us in North America get a toor like once every 5 years? I understand they have big festivals over there but these guys should be touring the home turf a little more often.

Shit Hits the Sheds, Summer Sanitarium, Lollapalooza, would like a word with you. Even when the 2008 tour was titled "European vacation" it featured 6 shows in North America. So please stop talking rubbish.
