You mean DINTE.
I clealry remember when it was debuted in 2006. For the most part fans liked it, or at least most of its parts (DB, solo, breakdown, melody). I don't know why it morphed into TEOTL, which I like a lot despite the fact that I initially wasn't that fond of it. If you ask me, DINTE fits DM and its vibe as a glove.
Off topic: that Rick Rubin belly reference cracked me up; you remind me of someone from here.

Death Is Not the End sounds like it should've been on the St. Anger album. Just add the snare and remove the solo.

I cannot understand why they transformed the cool song (Death is not the end) into that mediocre version (the end of the line) that ended up on DM.

I don't even like TEOTL that much. DINTE is fucking awesome IMO.

They used the solo sec for Nightmare, so thats good. The main riff is way better than the one that ended up in Line. But the chorus sucks to high heaven.

The only bit of Death Is Not The End that I liked was the intro. The rest was sub-par. Especially the "NOT THE END! NOT THE END!" bit. That was as bad as anything on St. Anger.

Both of the new songs were awful in my opinion

"The End of the Line" jams pretty fackin' hard, in my humble opinion.

The main riff was fucking heavy, when the double bass kicks in it's awesome!
Although TEOTL is more superior as a song.

I think TEOTL was a better use of the intro. Other than that, I don't think there's any point in comparing the songs.

Death Is not the End was not very good. The only good parts were the main riff, and the parts used in EOTL and Nightmare.
