The Unforgiven is very powerful, whereas NEM is simply a nice ballad, so definitely The Unforgiven! Also, the way they end The Unforgiven live always sends shivers through me... they should definitely have used that ending for the album version too.

Nah, the fade out works beautifully.

Fade outs have always been a pet hate of mine, it's very rarely works, or fits the song. It sounds much better to me if the song has a proper ending and conclusion. Fading out almost always leaves me feeling like the song hasn't finished, that there was something more that needed to be heard. The ending that they use for the song live is so dramatic and tense, it feels like that's the way the song always should have ended...
