Rumor going around Austin is that Metallica will be performing on March 21st @ Stubbs BBQ. Anyone else heard this rumor? That place only holds around 1500 people, so that would be killer is it was true.

Yeah it was confirmed a couple days ago. James will not be able to perform though, so John Madden will be taking his place.

If Metallica shows up at SXSW, it will be the worst SXSW ever. So bad, I think the entire conference may fold in on itself and slip into a giant poo-lagoon. Metallica and SXSW have nothing in common.

cant see them playing it, they are playing in Europe during this time, and play Birmingham, England on the 25th march

not true cuz they are playing the 25th in europe, true, but the sxsw dates are march 17th thru the 22nd, which leaves them wide open for the sxsw show on the 20th or 21st and still give them enough time to get to europe for there tour over there? heard this rumor again last night in Austin that there coming. Hoping to hell it's true!!!

so I hear that is confirmed that Metallica will be performing at Stubbs at this year's SXSW music conference in Austin, Tx. This will be the HARDEST show ever to get into since this place only holds around 1500 folks or so.

Fuck yes!! Dont know if the whole band will jam out or not, but it'll be cool to see them hanging out in the Austin area.

even if they did play, it's not like you would get to see them. it is just a way for them to get more people to go. only a hand full would get to see it IF they played.
